Decatur - Ray Eldridge of Ray Eldridge Jewelry in Decatur is retiring.
Eldridge says after almost 60 years of traveling, its time step away from the daily grind. "It's been an extraordinary ride," said Eldridge. "I've spent years traveling to exotic locales to find and deliver the finest gemstones available, and even spent a little time working the mines–just for the experience. It's been fun, but now I'm ready to step back from the daily grind, and focus on my weekly radio show (Ray's Happy Hour).
He is passing the business with locations in Decatur and Peoria to his daughter Tip.
A special retirement sale is being held at the Brettwood Village location today. Next week WAND will feature a special Business Watch segment, profiling the colorful businessman.
