Trial continues for woman accused of killing and dismembering her husband


SPRINGFIELD -- The Springfield woman accused of killing and dismembering her husband, then dumping his body in rural Mechanicsburg continues her jury trial today.

Denton-McCaster is accused of dismembering her husband, Norm McCaster,22. Denton is charged with three counts of first degree murder  and dismembering a human body.

The couple was married less than two years. Denton-McCaster was a student at UIS and Norman McCaster was a member of the National Guard. Police said neither have a previous criminal record.

Norman McCasters dismembered body was found dumped in rural Mechanicsburg on October 29th, 2012.

His identity was a mystery for several weeks, and he was never reported missing. When police questioned Juatasha, she told them her husband had taken all his items and left town.

If convicted Juatasha Denton-McCaster could face more than 60 years in prison.
