Voting rights could change in Illinois

Springfield - The constitution in Illinois could change, when it comes to voting rights.

An amendment to stop voter suppression passed a house committee on Tuesday. The change would ensure that no one is denied the right to register to vote or cast a ballot based on race, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation.

The bill now moved to the full house. If passed, it would be placed on the November ballot.
