The American Red Cross to open temporary office in Gifford
Gifford - It has been four and a half months since tornados swept through Illinois, and the American Red Cross continues their work in the towns hit hardest.
New cases open up every day and numerous after hours and weekend appointments have kept the Red Cross busy. Now, the Red Cross has decided to open a temporary office for the town of Gifford.
The office will help families and make volunteers feel closer to home. Representatives will be on hand to help those whose homes have been destroyed or suffered major damage like home insurance deductibles, transportation, retail assistance/security deposit, tools, work uniforms, property surveys and other costs if not covered by insurance or FEMA.
Red Cross representatives are available April 4th-12th from 9am to 5pm, Monday through Saturday, and other times by appointment, at the United Methodist Church, 351 W. Plumb Street in Gifford. Call (309) 677-7272 x7263 for an appointment.
