Walk a Mile in Her Shoes... Literally!

Posted:

More than 300 men turned the streets of Springfield into a runway Saturday afternoon. Strutting in heels!!

The Prairie Center Against Sexual Assault held it's 8th annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes march. Men walked a mile in heels while women walked in flat footwear. It's a fundraiser to keep the center going. The not-for-profit organization provides comprehensive services to victims of sexual assault. John Molson, who has participated for 4 years, says it's a fun way to get people thinking about this devastating issue.

"What's fun is it's a bunch of guys walking around in high heels," said Molson. "But, you know, there's a lot of meaning around it too. And I think that's what's important. It's gets everyone to stop and think about what's going on."

The center expects to raise just around 30 thousand dollars.
