Programs get a boost from agribusiness giant

Decatur - 75 area organizations can expect an extra helping hand of $2 million from Archer Daniels Midland Company.

ADM announced they want to support their largest employed population by giving back to the area. The grants will include a $125,000 contribution to create and implement a strategic development plan for the Midwest Inland Port. The goal is to increase and attract new business and jobs to central Illinois.

As part of its commitment to support local education, ADM is making a $320,000 contribution to Decatur Public Schools to continue four current programs that have demonstrated proven success for improved student outcomes. The programs include Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) at MacArthur High School, Operation Calculus (OC) at Eisenhower High School, Montessori Program at Enterprise Elementary School, and the Decatur Public Schools Foundation. ADM is also making grants to the other private schools and public school districts in Macon County.
