Weekend Fire Destroys Historic Central Illinois Home

LILLY - A weekend fire heavily damaged a historic central Illinois home that was once an inn for circuit-riding lawyers such as Abraham Lincoln.

According to historians, the inn was an overnight stop for lawyers traveling between Bloomington, Peoria, and Danvers during the mid-19th century.

Firefighters fought the flames for seven hours.  Mackinaw Fire Protection District Chief Joseph Warrick said that he believes the fire was electrical.  No one was injured.
