Macon County Emergency Management Agency offers free weather radio programming
DECATUR - The Macon County Emergency Management Agency will be programming NOAA weather radios for free on Thursday, May 22 at the Walgreens location on the corner of N. Water Street and Ash Avenue from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
The agency provides this service at no charge in an effort to raise awareness for severe weather preparedness for county residents. Individuals who would like their radios programmed are encouraged to bring them in. For those without a radio, NOAA weather radios will also be available for purchase on site.
The Macon County Emergency Management Agency says the radios are designed to notify people of severe weather threats while they are indoors or at night.
