Decatur man arrested for sexual assault

DECATUR - A Decatur man is in jail after he allegedly broke into a woman's home while she was sleeping, choked her, and forced her to perform a sex act.

Decatur police say Anthony L. Wright, 37, was arrested Sunday on preliminary charges of criminal sexual assault, aggravated domestic battery, home invasion, and violating an order of protection.

At about 2:50 a.m. Saturday morning, Decatur police responded to the victim's home, where they found her extremely upset and crying.  The victim told police that Wright had entered her home while she was sleeping.  According to the victim, Wright started to choke her, and forced her to perform a sex act.  The victim also said that Wright fled after she distracted him and ran out of the house.

Police also say that the victim had an order of protection against Wright prior to the incident.

Wright is being held in the Macon County Jail on $500,000 bond.
