Kidnap Suspect Busted - Woman Alive

HOUSTON, TEXAS – Police in Texas have arrested a man wanted in connection with the abduction of a Champaign woman.  The 19 year old woman has been found alive.

Eduardo Cortez was apprehended in Houston.  A red 2002 Chevy Silverado pickup truck was also recovered with stolen Missouri license plates.

The victim, Monica Ramirez, was allegedly abducted Wednesday afternoon at the Market Place Mall.  She is currently undergoing a medical evaluation.

Cortez is being held on a warrant out of Champaign County for aggravated battery.  Bond is set at $1 million.

Champaign Police and the FBI are looking for a second suspect who may be armed with a knife.
