Eastern Illinois University begins search for new president

CHARLESTON - The board of trustees at Eastern Illinois University hope to begin their search for a new school president by this fall.

Eighteen individuals have been named by the board to be part of a search committee that will look for candidates to replace the university's president, Bill Perry.  Included in the committee are four trustees, three faculty members, and Charleston Mayor Larry Rennels.

The Charleston university will also hold community forums to get input on the decision.

Perry has been president of Eastern Illinois University since 2007.  He announced his plans to retire in 2015 earlier this year.
