Pay raises for University of Illinois employees planned this summer

CHAMPAIGN - Most University of Illinois employees will be getting pay raises this summer, according to university president Bob Easter.

The merit-based salary program calls for raises to be awarded in August, and the average increase is expected to be 2.5 percent.

In an email sent to employees Monday, Easter said the range of raises will depend on union contracts and performance.

Raises in 2012 and 2013 have been in the 2.5 to 3 percent range.  University employees did not receive raises in 2010 or 2011.
