Major tennis tournament comes to Decatur

DECATUR - The Fairview Tennis Center in Decatur will host a U.S. Open National Playoffs USTA/Midwest Sectional Qualifying Tournament from June 20 to June 24.  The tournament offers everyone aged 14 and up the opportunity to earn a berth into the U.S. Open, and includes men's and women's singles, as well as mixed doubles.

The men's and women's singles champions earn a wild card into the U.S. Open Qualifying Tournament, held the week prior to the U.S. Open.  The U.S. Open National Playoffs mixed doubles champions receive a wild card into the main draw of the 2014 U.S. Open.

Fairview Tennis Center was named a USTA Outstanding Tennis Facility in 2008, and has been home to the USTA/Ursula Beck Pro Tennis Classic, a USTA Men's Pro Circuit event, for the past 15 years.  It hosts several other USTA tournaments, league championships, and USTA Midwest Youth Team Tennis events throughout the year.
