Shooting leaves one man dead

CHAMPAIGN- Champaign police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead.

It happened in the 1500 block of Hedge Road Tuesday night at approximately 5:50 p.m.  Champaign police responded to an initial report of people being chased by others who were armed with guns, and a report shortly afterwards of multiple shots being fired.

Police found a 26-year old victim who had been shot multiple times. Officers provided medical attention until an ambulance arrived to the scene. The man was transported to Carle Hospital in Urbana where he was pronounced dead.

Police are looking for the following suspect descriptions believed to be connected to this shooting:

1)     Black male wearing a white shirt

2)     Black male, 18 years-old, last seen wearing a cut-off jean jacket with no sleeves and blue jeans.

3)     Black male, 30 years-old, 5’ 11”, 145 lbs.

4)     Black male, 18 years-old, 5’10”, 160 lbs.   

5)     Black male, 37 years-old, 5’ 6”, 305 lbs.

Champaign Police are looking for two vehicles believed to be involved in this shooting:

-        Newer black 4 door passenger car

-        Silver SUV
