DECATUR - Archer Daniels Midland Company is expected to pay about $3 billion to acquire Wild Flavors, a privately held Swiss company which supplies natural ingredients to the food and beverage industry.
The agribusiness giant's all-cash deal will total about $3.13 billion, counting debt, which translates to 2.3 billion euros.
ADM processes soybeans, corn, and other crops to make a wide variety of products, from animal feed to ethanol, and the Decatur company says the deal expands its ability to serve the evolving needs of the customers.
Wild Flavors sells fruit juice concentrates and blends and natural flavors as well as full flavor and ingredient products known as flavor systems.
The companies expect to close the deal by the end of the year.
