National Guard airmen return to Peoria after serving overseas

PEORIA - After serving in southwestern Asia, about 40 members of the Illinois Air National Guard have returned home.

Members of the 182nd Airlift Wing arrived in Peoria on Tuesday, greeted by friends and family.  The airmen served with the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing, flying 237 missions, carrying 51 patients, over 2,300 passengers, and more than 700 tons of cargo.

Among those who reunited with their family, Luke Rosenbloom held his son Jaxson, and noted that he has "grown a lot."  Another boy in the crowd held a sign that read "Get out of my way, I get my daddy back today."
