San Francisco Superior Court, through a partnership with File & ServeXpress, has completed its e-Filing expansion bringing 62 total Civil case types online.

San Francisco, Calif. (PRWEB) July 15, 2014

San Francisco Superior Court is expanding its Civil cases available for e-Filing through the Courts e-Filing Service Provider, File & ServeXpress. On July 14, 2014, the San Francisco Superior Court went live with the final voluntary expansion of the remaining 25 Civil case types to offer additional e-Filing efficiencies to the Court and its filers. This expansion makes e-Filing available for almost all Civil case types.

The system provided by File & ServeXpress, the pioneer in electronic document exchange, allows for comprehensive e-Filing, e-Service and document management services, eliminating the costly overhead and excessive time required to copy, process and deliver thousands of paper documents each year. The e-Filing expansion began with 16 different case types in the Courts general Civil cases in January 2014 followed by an additional 21 new Civil case types in April. Since the initial launch, the Court has processed 4,200 general Civil e-Filing transactions from more than 500 law firms, who have used the service to e-File and e-Serve documents saving valuable time, money and resources.

With its third expansion in less than a year, the San Francisco Superior Court continues to raise the bar with its commitment to efficient and cost effective services for the public, said Mel Yarbrough, File & ServeXpress CEO. They are harnessing technology to reduce costs and increase efficiency in the Court and to its filers.

File & ServeXpress has served as the Courts e-Filing vendor for more than 15 years in Complex Litigation, Asbestos and Probate Trust cases, which are currently mandated for e-Filing. With the Courts latest expansion, the File & ServeXpress system now provides permissive e-Filing for 25 additional general Civil case types, which now expands to all Civil case types except limited Unlawful Detainer and Small Claims cases. The final expansion cases include:

  •     Civil Harassment
  •     Elder and Adult Dependent Abuse
  •     Order of Examination
  •     Petition for Change of Gender and for Issuance of New Birth Certificate
  •     Petition for Name Change
  •     Petition for Change of Name and Gender
  •     Petition for Compromise of Claims
  •     Unlawful Detainer Commercial
  •     Unlawful Detainer Residential (Unlimited Jurisdiction)
  •     Unlawful Detainer Landlord/Tenant Residential (Unlimited Jurisdiction)
  •     Unlawful Detainer Drug-Related
  •     Wrongful Eviction
  •     Petition for Forfeiture/Asset Forfeiture
  •     Claim Opposing Forfeiture
  •     Quiet Title, including McEnerney
  •     Petition for Relief in Discovery Dispute Related to Out-of-State Case
  •     Labor Judgment
  •     Sister State Judgment
  •     Rico
  •     Complaint within Small Claims Jurisdictional Limit by Assignee of Record
  •     General Negligence
  •     Administrative Review
  •     Other Civil Petitions
  •     Other Exempt Status Complaints
  •     Other Non-Exempt Complaints

Now that e-Filing is available for nearly all Civil case types, our goal is to provide filers an easy transition with complete training programs and 24/7 support so they can begin e-Filing immediately to take advantage of the many efficiencies digital document exchange provides, said Yarbrough.
