Northern Illinois woman pleads guilty to first-degree murder
WAUKEGAN - A northern Illinois woman has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder for her part in the killing of a man that she mistakenly believed sexually assaulted her.
Nadia Palacios, 24, entered her plea in court on Tuesday. Palacios is the fourth person that has either been convicted or pleaded guilty in the 2011 death of David Campbell, 27.
According to authorities, Campbell was tortured before being killed by the group after he was accused of assaulting Palacios. Police say the attackers may have mistaken Campbell for someone else, and that they're still looking for a fifth suspect believed to be involved in Waukegan murder.
Palacios will be sentenced on August 21. She faces up to 60 years in prison.
