Job Fair Attracts Huge Crowd

Decatur – In the first 15 minutes of a local job fair more than 100 people came through the doors of the Knights of Columbus Hall in Decatur seeking job applications.  With unemployment still over 9% the jobless are desperately looking for work.

“Been looking for two years now,” one job seeker told WAND News.

“I’ve got a family,” said Brian Adams.  “I’ve got two girls to look after.  I want to make sure they have the right things in life.”

The job fair was put together by State Representative Sue Scherer, (D) Decatur, and Robyn McCoy of Workforce Investment Solutions.

“We have so many employers here today who are looking for good people to hire with a variety of different skill levels,” stated McCoy referring to the 41 employers on hand for the job fair.
