CHAMPAIGN - The Champaign Park District has announced that the final steps to completing trail work of the northern end of Kaufman Lake will begin on Monday, July 21.
The trail around the lake will be completely paved to better serve residents who use the area for walking, running, birding, fishing, and canoeing. Construction is expected to last four weeks, and due to construction traffic, the park will be completely closed to all forms of use and access.
The project is being funded by a $200,000 Illinois Department of Commerce and Equal Opportunity grant. For more information, contact Champaign Park District Executive Director Joe DeLuce at (217) 819-3821.
