Northern Illinois man faces charges in second murder

ROCKFORD - A man already accused of killing a high school friend has now been charged with a second northern Illinois murder.

On Tuesday, prosecutors in Lee County filed 12 murder counts against Terence Doddy, 36, in the July 1 death of Tonya Bargman, 44.  Doddy also faces charges of robbery, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and credit card, and concealment of a homicidal death.  He was already charged in the June 30 killing of Todd Hansmeier, 37.

Doddy is accused of asphyxiating Bargman at a Paw Paw rest stop along Interstate 39 before stealing her car.  He was arrested after a chase near Beloit, Wisconsin on July 4.

Doddy has pleaded not guilty to the charges related to Hansmeier's death, and is to be arraigned in Lee County on Wednesday.
