Illinois pheasant hunting permits available in August
SPRINGFIELD - According to state officials, controlled pheasant hunting permits in Illinois will soon be available.
In a news release on Wednesday, state officials say that 16 of 20 pheasant hunting sites are operated by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The other four are operated in a private-public partnership. Marc Miller, director at the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, says it's time for pheasant hunters to start planning.
The state's reservation system for online permits opens on August 4 for 15 of the state-operated sites. The daily permit fee for the program is $30 for resident hunters and $35 for nonresident hunters.
