Police investigating Champaign bank robbery

CHAMPAIGN - The Champaign Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in identifying a suspect in connection with a bank robbery.

Champaign police say they were dispatched to Chase Bank at 3:00 p.m. on July 25 for a reported armed robbery.  Police were told that a man entered the bank and handed a teller a threatening note and demanded money.  The suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen traveling southbound on foot.

The suspect is described as about six feet tall, about 185 pounds, and about 28 years of age.  He has dirty blonde hair, and was wearing a blue and red baseball cap with "Buddies" on the front of the cap in white letters, a blue T-shirt, and black shorts.
