Groundbreaking set on phase two construction at Meridian schools
BLUE MOUND -- Meridian school leaders plan a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday evening, beginning phase two of the district's school facility improvements.
Construction kicks off on two separate facilities in the district. The current Middle School will be converted to a Pre-K through 5th grade facility. And the current High School will get additions and renovations to create a 6th through 12th grade campus.
Meridian was awarded $29 million through the State's grant program to pay for phase two of construction. The district already built a new High School gymnasium and entryway as part of phase one construction.
The groundbreaking ceremony is set for 7:00 Thursday night at the current Middle School in Blue Mound.
