Illinois State University preparing for incoming freshman class

NORMAL - Illinois State University is expecting a larger-than-normal incoming freshman class for the 2014-2015 school year.

Estimates for this fall's freshman class are between 3,500 and 3,600 students.  According to Troy Johnson, the university's vice president of enrollment management, that number is up from last year, with a little under 3,000 freshman.  Official numbers won't be available until the tenth day of classes.

Johnson also says that total enrollment for this year is expected to be between 20,000 and 21,000.  Housing officials at the university say they have enough room for the students.

Move-in day for students is next week.
