Streetscape Work Resumes

Decatur – Work has resumed on Decatur's streetscape project.

On Friday workers were blocking lanes and removing light poles along Franklin Street in downtown Decatur.  The work starts at Wood Street and runs north to Eldorado Street.

The current segment of the project will be completed in spring 2015.  The cost is $2.4 million using city bond funds, a state grant and the cities allocation of motor fuel taxes.

The city is urging caution driving through the area since lanes will be changing.  The four lanes on Franklin Street will be reduced from four to three.
