Decatur man sentenced to 72 years in prison

DECATUR - A Decatur man has been sentenced to 72 years in prison for the 2011 shooting death of a teen.

Tre McSpadden, 20, received his sentence on Monday.  McSpadden was found guilty earlier this year of First-Degree Murder and Attempted First-Degree Murder in the death of Devin Kirk, 18.  Kirk was shot in the 900 block of West View on April 30, 2011.  Kirk was transported to Decatur Memorial Hospital for treatment, and died later that same day.

Decatur Police say they received considerable assistance from the public during their investigation.
