Central Illinois man dies in helicopter crash in Piatt County

PIATT COUNTY - One man is dead after his crop dusting helicopter crashed just north of Mansfield.

According to the Piatt County Sheriff's Office, emergency responders responded to an aircraft crash in the area of Piatt County Highway 2 and County Road 1300 E, located to the north of Mansfield.  Upon arriving at the scene, responders determined the aircraft to be a crop dusting helicopter operated by Reynolds Aerial.

The helicopter's pilot, Paul Reynolds, was pronounced dead at the scene.  No other injuries or deaths were reported.  The Piatt County Sheriff's Office conducted a primary investigation on scene, and the crash is currently under investigation by the FAA.
