University of Illinois to host Agronomy Day

URBANA - The University of Illinois will host Agronomy Day in its Crop Sciences Research and Education Center on August 14.  The annual event is attended by over 1,000 visitors to the research center, located south of the university's main campus off of St. Mary's Road on South Wright Street Extended.

The event kicks off at 7:00 a.m., and will feature a wide variety of interesting and educational exhibits.  An outdoor display area will be showing the latest in farm equipment and technological advances, as well as antique farming equipment.  You can also learn about classes offered in the Department of Crop Sciences at the university, talk with company representatives, and enter your name in door prize drawings.  Hour-long tours will also be offered.

Lunch tickets will be available for purchase at the registration tent.  Pulled pork barbeque and Italian beef sandwiches will be available starting after noon, and snacks can be purchased from the Field and Furrow Club's booth in the main tent.
