Vets Honored With Special Flights

Decatur – World War II and Korean War veterans will be honored with special flights later this month.  The flights, in two seat 1940's Stearman biplanes, will take off from airports in Decatur and Shelbyville.

“This is to give back to the veterans for everything that they have done for us,” said organizer Gini Smith.  “These people are very excited about going on the trip.”

The flights are put on by the Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation, AADF.  The foundation has provided over 500 dream flights in 27 states.  Each flight takes about 40 minutes.

Fourteen veterans have been chosen for the August 30th flights in Decatur.  Five veterans will fly in Shelbyville on August 31st.  Veterans can have their names added to a list for future flights by contacting Gini Smith at 217-454-1940.
