Bloomington and Normal police warning residents of vehicle thefts

BLOOMINGTON - Residents of Bloomington and Normal are being warned by police to lock their cars and remove their keys from their vehicles after a recent string of vehicle thefts.

According to Bloomington police Sgt. Rick Beoletto, the vehicle were stolen "at random."  He also says in each incident keys were either inside the vehicle or in a second vehicle located nearby, and that the majority of these crimes occurred overnight.  Beoletto says on Sunday, three juveniles were arrested in Normal on charges related to two vehicle thefts

A dozen stolen vehicles have been reported since August 1.
