DEWITT COUNTY- Most of you had heard of dash cams, but the Dewitt County Sheriff's office has cameras you can wear. They wear them at all times. Already, the cameras helped clear up an instance when an inmate said he had a shoulder injury. He complained of severe pain, but in the video, you can see him doing push-ups. Chief Deputy Mike Walker says down the line, the cameras could actually save them money. "We're protecting our community, we're protecting our officers and we're being a little more fiscally responsible because it's going to help us take care of any lawsuits we may have," Walker says. Each camera is about 700 dollars. They bought roughly 30 cameras for all deputies on patrol and in the jail.
