Champaign woman wins $75,000

CHAMPAIGN - A central Illinois resident is $75,000 richer after purchasing a winning scratch-off lottery ticket.

Illinois Lottery officials say that Champaign resident Carolyn Gaines presented her winning ticket to the Illinois Lottery Prize Center in Springfield last week.  Gaines says she plans on making some minor home improvements and taking a trip.

The winning ticket was sold at a Circle K location in Champaign.  The retailer received $750, or one percent of the prize amount, for selling a winning ticket.
