Head-on collision in Beardstown leaves 1 injured

BEARDSTOWN - Illinois State Police are investigating a crash that left a woman injured Wednesday afternoon.

Police say that on August 20 at about 1:40 p.m., a black 2002 Chevrolet traveling westbound on Rt. 125 and a white 2009 truck tractor with a semi trailer traveling eastbound on Rt. 125 were involved in a head-on collision near the Wall Street intersection in Beardstown.  The collision happened when the Chevrolet veered into the eastbound lane.

According to police, the driver of the truck tractor, 52-year-old Randy L. Feuling, was not injured in the crash.  However, the driver of the Chevrolet, an 18-year-old female whose name is being withheld, was airlifted to Memorial Medical Center for treatment.  Lanes of traffic were blocked for a period of time following the crash.

Police say the crash is still under investigation.
