Danville police investigate Monday morning bank robbery
DANVILLE - Danville police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred on Monday, August 25.
According to Director of Public Safety Larry Thomason, police were alerted to an alarm from First Midwest Bank in Danville at about 11:30 a.m., indicating that a robbery was in progress. When officers arrived at the scene, they learned the suspect had fled the area with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen on foot.
Thomason says that the suspect did not display a weapon, and that no one was injured in the incident. Officers and K9 units search the surrounding area in an attempt to locate the suspect.
The suspect is described as a white male with a thin build, and was wearing a gray-colored shirt and a white baseball cap.
