Western Illinois woman faces charges in the death of her infant daughter
NAUVOO - Nauvoo police say a western Illinois woman has been charged in connection with the death of her 19-month-old daughter.
On Thursday, Jody Price, 33, was charged with endangering the life or health of a child. According to Nauvoo Assistant Police Chief Mike Boley, the investigation into the death of Price's daughter in July is ongoing. Illinois social services are also investigating the death.
Boley says an autopsy was conducted by the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner, but that no cause of death has been determined. Boley also says morphine pills were found near the girl's bed and play area, and that morphine was also found in the girl's body. Tests are still ongoing.
Price is being held in the Hancock County Jail on $50,000 bond.
