Millikin-Decatur Symphony Orchestra performs Labor Day Pops Concert at Nelson Park

DECATUR - For the 18th consecutive year, the Millikin-Decatur Symphony Orchestra will hold their Labor Day Pops Concert in Nelson Park on September 1.

The hour-long concert begins at 6:00 p.m. in the pavilion located just up the hill from Nelson Park's amphitheater, and will feature light classical, patriotic, and popular arrangements.

Some of the musical selections being performed tonight include George Cohan's "You're a Grand Old Flag," Offenbach's "Overture to Orpheus in the Underworld," Copland's "Saturday Night Waltz from Rodeo," and "A Touch Of Jazz" arranged by Jerry Brubaker.
