Man charged with allegedly spreading HIV

URBANA - An Urbana man is facing one felony count of criminal transmission of HIV and one count of domestic battery following an incident Monday.

Tyaire Denninger-Bradley, 24, faces penalties ranging from probation to three to seven years in prison if convicted.

Police were sent to the 1700 block of East Florida Avenue after Denninger-Bradley and his boyfriend got in an argument about posting sexual ads on Craigslist.

Denninger-Bradley allegedly picked up a half-eaten watermelon and hit his roommate in the head with it. Denninger-Bradley also allegedly spat in his boyfriend's face. Upon interviewing the boyfriend and Denninger-Bradley's mother, police learned Denninger-Bradley is infected with HIV. Denninger-Bradley was currently out on bond for the same charge in a McLean County case. A judge ordered Denninger-Bradley to be back in court for a hearing on September 16. Denninger-Bradley was also ordered to have no contact with his boyfriend.
