SPRINGFIELD - Illinois State Treasurer Dan Rutherford is encouraging Sangamon County residents to attend a pair of I-Cash events to determine if the state is holding any money or unclaimed property entitled to them.
The events are scheduled to be held on Friday, September 5, and Saturday, September 6. We've included a list of times and locations for these events below.
Friday, September 5, 2014 Springfield, The Regency, 2120 West Washington Street, Springfield (lobby area) 2 p.m. - 3 p.m.: I-Cash staff will be on site to help attendees find out if they have unclaimed property.
Saturday, September 6, 2014 Sherman, The Villas Senior Care Community, Skilled Nursing/Short Term Rehabilitation, 100 Marian Parkway, Sherman (lobby area) 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.: I-Cash staff will be on site to help attendees find out if they have unclaimed property.
According to the state treasurer's office, 89,520 Sangamon County owners have more than $20 million in unclaimed property. The Unclaimed Property Division also has $2.1 billion in cash, along with contents from safe deposit boxes that have been inactive for at least 5 years.
