SPRINGFIELD - A Springfield man accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend and another man with a marble cutting board has been charged with attempted murder.

Maurice King, 41, was taken into custody after the incident at the ex-girlfriend's house on Saturday.

According to police, King entered the woman's home around 1:40 a.m., and found the other man giving her a tattoo.  The 34-year old male victim suffered serious head injuries, and was transported to a local hospital.  The woman, who was able to flee during the attack, wasn't hurt as bad, and was able to leave the hospital after treatment.

County officials say that in addition to the attempted murder charge, King is facing charges of domestic battery and unlawful use of a weapon.  King's bond is set at $250,000.
