Decatur Public Schools Board of Education approves new contract

DECATUR - The Decatur Public Schools Board of Education has approved a four-year contract with the Decatur Education Association.

During a regularly scheduled meeting on September 9, the board voted to approve the contract, which was ratified by the DEA on September 4.  

Under the new contract, Decatur Education Association members will receive an average 2.47% salary increase over the four year contract.  High school athletic director positions will be phased into administrative positions, and tuition reimbursement of employees seeking their first Master's degree will be available.  Also outlined in the agreement is retirement incentive and early retirement language.
