Charleston Police Department investigating hit and run

CHARLESTON - The Charleston Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying a vehicle believed to have been involved in a hit and run.

Charleston police say on September 21 at about 3:57 p.m., officers responded to 4th Street and Grant Avenue for a report of a female who had been struck by a vehicle that immediately left the area.  Officers say that witnesses described the vehicle as an aqua-green full size truck with a regular cab.  The picture in this story is from a nearby surveillance camera of what is believed by police to be the vehicle involved in the hit and run.

The pedestrian that was struck was airlifted to Carle Hospital by Life Flight Helicopter.  She received treatment, and was later released.  This incident is still under investigation by the Charleston Police Department, Eastern Illinois Police Department, and Illinois State Police.
