Just Days After Champaign Visit, Illinois Gets Commitment from Coleman

CHAMPAIGN -- The recruiting season, which for John Groce is all year, just got better for the Illini.

Just two weeks after losing out on 5-star point guard Jalen Brunson, Illinois got a commitment from top-flight combo guard Jalen Coleman.

Coleman, out of Indianapolis, would be the first Indiana product to suit up for the Illini since 1985.

In his junior season, the 6'2", 155 pound Coleman led La Lumiere High School with 14.6 points per game, and shot 46% from 3-point range.

Coleman's addition puts the 2015 class at three and counting.

Simeon's D.J. Williams and Plainfield East's Aaron Gordon round out Illinois' class, which ranks among the best in the country.
