Follow up: Man arrested after high speed chase

HUMBOLDT - Clayton E. Coaliron, 41, of Carmi was arrested early Friday morning after a high-speed chase with police resulted in a crash.

The chase began just south of Arcola when a Douglas County Sheriff's Deputy saw Coaliron's car traveling at a high rate of speed.

Police say the chase approached speeds of 100 MPH before the vehicle crashed in a farm field. Police say Coaliron ran away from the scene but was arrested two hours later.

Coles County deputies arrested Coaliron on a Macon County contempt of court warrant.

Records of warrants for Coaliron also exist in Wayne and White counties for failure to appear in court on drug charges.
