Millikin Blows Out Aurora in First Game on New-Look Frank M. Lindsay Field

 DECATUR -- The Millikin football team defeated Aurora 30-9 Saturday night, in their first game on the new-look Frank M. Lindsay Field. The Big Blue got the job done with big plays on defense and special teams. Jowonis Edwards put Millikin on the board with a 97 yard kickoff return for a touchdown early in the 2nd quarter. The Big Blue would add another special teams touchdown in the third quarter, when Travis Goveia recovered a block punt in the end zone, which gave Millikin a 19-7 lead. Nick Pippin hit Kyle Leadlove for an 8 yard touchdown halfway through the third, which put Millikin up 24-7. The Big Blue would land the knockout punch with 20 seconds left in the 3rd quarter, when Nikia Averitte scored on a 15-yard fumble recovery. Millikin improves to 2-1.
