DALLAS -- A target of Illinois' 2015 recruiting class will be going elsewhere.
Jawun Evans, a 4-or-5 star recruit out of Kimball High School (Dallas, TX) announced Wednesday that he'd play college ball at Oklahoma State.
According to ESPN.com, Evans said, "Oklahoma State was the right fit for me. Coach Ford was a point guard, and I feel I can learn under him. I really liked their drills. They are intense, and they will get me better."
Evans had said he put Illinois and USC in his top-3, and was a top priority for Illinois after Chicago PG Jalen Brunson committed to Villanova.
Illinois still has a top-10 recruiting class for 2015, according to most publications. A trio of 4-star players, including guard Aaron Gordon, forward D.J. WIlliams, and guard Jalen Coleman-Lands make up a strong group.
Illinois head men's basketball coach John Groce has expressed that he'll continue to try and add to his 2015 class.
