Springfield police investigating vehicular hijacking and theft

SPRINGFIELD - The Springfield Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in solving a aggravated vehicular hijacking case that happened on September 19.

Authorities say just after 10:00 p.m. at the 1600 block of South 14th Street in Springfield, a Pizza Hut driver was delivering food when three suspects forced the driver to the back of the house at gunpoint.  The suspects threatened to shoot the driver if he resisted during the robbery, then proceeded to take personal items from the driver before taking the driver's gold-colored 2002 Dodge Intrepid.  The vehicle was later recovered.

All three suspects are described as black males in their 20's.  If anyone has any information on this vehicular hijacking and theft, they are urged to call Crime Stoppers at (217) 788-8427.
