Peoria woman sentenced to 10 years for aggravated arson

PEORIA - A Peoria woman who pleaded guilty to setting a fire at a nursing home in 2012 has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

After lengthy questioning, a judge accepted the guilty plea from Sheree Dunn, 54, and sentenced her for aggravated arson.

Dunn's attorney told the judge even though Dunn was recently found fit to stand trial, she could still explore pleas of not guilty by reason of insanity or guilty but mentally ill.  However, Dunn says she refused those pleas because she isn't insane.  Dunn says that she is "an honest woman" and wants to get on with her life.

Dunn could be released from prison in about six-and-a-half years.
