Champaign police make arrest in home invasion cases

CHAMPAIGN - According to the Champaign Police Department, a suspect has been arrested in connection with two separate sexual abuse and sexual assault cases that occurred on October 11.

Champaign police say Paul Rouse, 29, was arrested on October 13, 2014.  Champaign County State's Attorney Julia Rietz says Rouse will be formally charged in arraignment court with four counts of home invasion.

According to Rietz, the charges allege that Rouse entered both victims' apartments, and committed sexual acts against the victims while they slept.  Champaign police say the incidents occurred between 3:00 a.m. and 4:40 a.m.

Rouse is currently being held at the Champaign County Jail.
