More than 212,000 job ads posted by Illinois businesses in September
CHICAGO - According to Illinois Department of Employment Security officials, more than 212,000 "help wanted" ads were placed online by Illinois businesses in September.
Officials said that most of the ads were for full-time positions. Illinois Department of Employment Security Director Jay Rowell says the number of help wanted ads is consistent and "a strong signal" of the continuing need for workers.
The Conference Board, an independent business membership and research group, says the leading metropolitan areas for those job postings were Chicago, Bloomington/Peoria, Decatur/Springfield, and Rockford.
